Anthony e. patterson

Anthony Patterson has nearly 30 years of experience representing clients in state and federal courts across the U.S. He specializes in complex civil litigation, including construction and business litigation, personal injury, and defending clients against the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

Key successes include obtaining an $8 million verdict for minority shareholders, securing a dismissal against the FTC with a $260,000 settlement for legal fees, and winning a construction case in federal court. In 2023, he achieved a dismissal in a civil RICO case for his client in Pennsylvania.

“In 2016, I represented minority shareholders who were frozen out of their company. The case went to trial, and I obtained a verdict for my clients in the amount of $8,056,339.79. ”

In 2019, I successfully defended a Pittsburgh company against the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. During the trial, I obtained a dismissal of the case after the FTC’s case in chief. I then successfully prosecuted an Equal Access to Justice Act (EAJA) Motion seeking my client’s legal fees, costs, and expenses against the FTC. I negotiated a settlement whereby the FTC paid my client the sum of $260,000, representing a portion of my client's legal fees, costs, and expenses.

In a federal case that spanned almost 4 years from 2017 through 2021, I successfully litigated and settled a construction case that I filed in the United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky. In that case, my client, a steel erection and heavy equipment installation company, sought damages against the owner of the project for, among other things, delays, disruptions, interferences, base contract amounts due, and its retainage.

In September of 2023, I obtained a dismissal of the case, via a motion to dismiss, for my client who was sued in the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania for alleged civil RICO violations.
